The Executive Council is pleased to announce that the Hong Kong Credit and Collection Management Association (HKCCMA) will officially change its name to the
Institute of Credit and Compliance Management (ICCM)
This is an important milestone in the development of our Association. While our name is changing, our commitment to our members and to the credit profession remains as strong as ever.

Why are we changing our name?
When HKCCMA was established in 1999, the credit and collection industry was very different from what it is today. Over the past 27 years, the industry has evolved significantly. Credit management is no longer simply about debt collection or assessing a customer's ability to pay. It has developed into a much broader professional discipline involving credit risk management, compliance, governance, data and technology, financial risk, value-chain risk and cross-border business.
At the same time, businesses are operating in an increasingly complex and interconnected environment. The rapid development of digital technology and artificial intelligence, the growing importance of compliance and risk management, and the increasing internationalization of businesses have all created new challenges—and new opportunities—for credit professionals.
We therefore believe the time is right for our Association to take the next step.
The new name, Institute of Credit and Compliance Management, better reflects the broader scope of our profession and the direction in which we intend to develop.
From an Association to an Institute
Over the years, HKCCMA has played an important role in promoting professional standards and ethical practices within the industry. However, we believe that the future of the profession depends not only on experience, but also on continuous education, professional qualifications and lifelong learning.
Education will therefore become one of the key pillars of ICCM.
We will continue to develop professional education programs, certification and continuing professional development opportunities for credit and compliance practitioners. We also intend to strengthen our cooperation with universities, professional institutions and international organizations, so that our members can gain access to broader knowledge, recognized qualifications and international professional standards.
Our recent collaboration with HKU SPACE to introduce the Corporate Credit Risk Management program, together with the ICCM Certified Credit Professional (CCP) designation, is an important step in this direction. We see this as the beginning of a much broader education and professional development platform for our members.
New Membership Designations
As part of the transition to ICCM, our membership designations will also be updated to reflect our new identity.
Effective immediately:
Fellow of the Institute of Credit and Compliance Management — FICCM
Member of the Institute of Credit and Compliance Management — MICCM
Accordingly, valid Fellow Members and Ordinary Members are invited to use FICCM (Formerly FCCMA) and MICCM (Formerly MCCMA), respectively, as their post-nominal designations with immediate effect.
These new designations represent our members' continuing professional affiliation with the Institute and form part of our commitment to developing ICCM as a professional institution for the credit and compliance management profession.
Looking ahead
The change of name does not mean that we are leaving our heritage behind. On the contrary, ICCM was built on the foundation established by HKCCMA over more than two decades.
Our original objectives remain highly relevant: promoting professional and ethical standards, contributing to a healthy credit environment, educating the public and industry practitioners, and advocating the professional development of the credit industry.
What is changing is the scope of our vision.
We aspire to develop ICCM into a recognized professional institute for credit and compliance management, serving not only Hong Kong practitioners but also professionals across the Greater Bay Area and, in time, the wider international community.
We will continue to build bridges with universities, professional bodies, government and regulatory organizations, and international credit institutions. We also hope to create more opportunities for our members to learn, exchange ideas, obtain professional recognition and develop their careers.
A new chapter, together
This name change marks the beginning of a new chapter for our Association.
The Executive Council would like to thank all our members, past Chairmen, committee members, partners and supporters who have contributed to HKCCMA's development since its establishment. Without your support, we would not be where we are today.
As we move forward as the Institute of Credit and Compliance Management, we sincerely hope that you will continue to support the Association and join us in building a stronger, more professional and more forward-looking credit and compliance community.
The name is changing. Our foundation remains. Our vision is growing.
We look forward to embarking on this new chapter together with all of you.
