Below is the text of the speech given by Mr. Mat Ng, on accepting this prestigious award.

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, Chairman Mr. Bobby Rozario, Executive Committee, members and distinguished guests of the HKCCMA.

It is truly an honor to receive this award. My sincere appreciation to the Executive Committee for considering me for this recognition. In particular, I want to express my gratitude to Bobby Rozario and Calvin Ho for providing me the opportunity to contribute to the professional development of our members. I would also like to thank Ruby Tang for her nomination, and Anthony Cheng for his continued support and introducing me to the HKCCMA.

As we all know, credit management is never the effort or achievement of one individual. It is the collective work of dedicated professionals, advisors, colleagues, and stakeholders across the credit management industry. Throughout the years as an insolvency practitioner, I have had the privilege to work alongside many of you — achieving recoveries through restructurings and formal insolvency processes in my capacity as a bankruptcy trustee of an individual or a liquidator in a company winding up.

The collaboration, confidence, and trust you have extended to me have been invaluable. We all share a common goal – to maximize recoveries and get the best outcomes for our clients. This shared mission is what unites us and continues to drive excellence across our profession.

I would also like to take this opportunity to highlight the importance of continuous learning and the professional development of our members.

It is essential that the next generation upholds the high standards and professionalism of credit management work. I would therefore like to acknowledge the important contributions of Bobby Rozario and Calvin Ho, whose leadership has been instrumental in developing the HKCCMA’s seminars, training programs and professional development initiatives, to support the ongoing education and advancement of our members.

Thank you once again for this award. It is a privilege to serve, contribute, and to continue working alongside all of you in strengthening our profession.
